Facebook so far has been reluctant to run ads at the beginning of videos that show up in someone's feed, but now there's a limited test for ads-first videos.

The linked article says nothing about ads, unless one of the buzzword bingo entries in it is a euphemism.

Oh dear, that's corporate BS at it's finest. Describing Ad Breaks as "improving the viewing experience for people" and stating "Viewers tell us they prefer it when the video they are watching “merits” an Ad Break" - yes, because it's really the public who want this crap and FB are doing everyone a favour by rolling out more of it.

I really don't watch many videos on Facebook.... But it's interesting that Facebook are actively putting measures in place to discourage me from watching more.

Disable it. That will remove updates, delete data, and stop it running. Since the pre-installed version lives in a different partition to your own apps and data this also saves you as much space as uninstalling it would.
