Unlock Network

Based on what the unlocking policy is for MetroPCS and the phone you've got, you have to call them. The HTC Desire 530 is not on their list of phones that can be unlocked with an app. (of course that could be an old list, but it's best to call them anyway.)

That said, to unlock you will need your phone (obviously), the MetroPCS account number and name, and a PIN if you ever set one to verify you are the phone's owner. You will also need a SIM from a different provider.

This is how it works ... you call MetroPCS customer service and tell them you want to unlock your phone. They will verify you are the phone's owner, the account is in good standing and that you've satisfied any minimum use period and there are no outstanding contracts against that device. They will instruct you to turn off your phone, remove the MetroPCS SIM card and then put in the other carrier's SIM. Now when you boot up the phone you will be prompted for an unlock code. They give you a number and you type it in and the phone should unlock. Once you verify that the new SIM makes a connection to the new carrier, your phone is unlocked and will stay that way forever.

Possible problems would be if you are not the original owner or the phone is blacklisted. You will also have problems if you are trying to use an incompatible network.
