Not just Boston, get them in NY too. Spoofed with a local area code of course.
I have Scam Block enabled on Metro which stops a lot of calls but some of these do get through.
My next door neighbors are Chinese. When the mother is yelling at the kids in Chinese, yeah, it sounds like ... any other mother yelling in any other language at their kids. HARSH!
I did read something about these calls, they are a scam aimed at Chinese people (which we have plenty of here) and apparently some of them have lost money by falling for whatever the scam is.
Well it's not like they actually know who they are calling, it's just a game of statistics that pays off given the high numbers of Chinese people in the targeted areas. I got one the other day with a spoofed ID 'General Consulate' so it's probably some kind of immigration scam.
