My cousin is going on a cruise, with stops in Cuba, Belize, Cozumel, and...some other place. Someone sternly warned her that she'd be charged a bundle for taking pictures there with her phone.
I attempted to break things down logically.
I said that, first, photos are stored on the phone. Then, if she uploads them to Apple's cloud, they're stored there, too, and if she normally does this automatically, her phone will look for a connection in order to complete that task.
I said that she should be able to adjust her settings to turn off auto-upload until she gets home, and if she keeps the phone in airplane mode while travelling, she shouldn't incur any data charges from taking pictures.
I'm right...right?
(I actually feel like an ass asking this, but the iPhone user who gave her the stern warning was quite adamant about it.)
