External Speaker/ Speakerphone useless after 8.1 update

Not rooted.

Updated the OTA 8.1 last night. First use today, my extra speaker is now so quiet (on full volume) that it's functionally useless.

Trying to make a call on speakerphone is marginally louder than holding the phone away from my head with the speaker off. Watching Youtube is borderline impossible without being in the quietest room.

I would not update your phone, if you can avoid it. So far I haven't seen any feature I like enough in this update, to deal with this bullsh!t.

Does Oreo have some sort of auto attenuation built in? I just fired up Youtube again and started to play a video, the intro music started at a more respectable volume and then dimmed... I swiped the video back to the beginning, and the beginning of the intro was now just as quiet.

As if there's some built-in AGC in Oreo that's gone rogue and attenuating everything played through my speaker...
