WiFi Calling

Sometimes in my house, when I'm on a call, people tell me I'm breaking up or sound like a robot. However, I can always hear them fine. So I decided to turn on my WiFi calling but have a few questions.

1. Is it a good idea to use WiFi calling?
2. By doing so, does this mean "all" my calls and texts will use WiFi instead of my cellular network when at home and connected?
3. If WiFi is weak or drops, does cellular network automatically kick in?
4. Most important, why do I need to set up an address for? Is it just for 911 calls? What happens if I go to my friends house and I have their WiFi already saved on my phone? If I ever had to call 911, wouldn't it just show my home address, instead of theirs?

I've been searching for the answer to these questions and I'm actually more confused. Can anyone help me out?

Depends on your situation. I use it when traveling overseas or when I have weak signal.

Yes, with limits. Sometimes on weak WiFi I need to turn off WiFi calling to force my phone to use cellular. There will be a notification in the taskbar letting you know when you are connected to WiFi calling.

My understanding is that WiFi calling cannot present a proper location to dispatch when you call 911 thus the need for an address on file. If WiFi calling is turned on and you have a hotspot saved on your phone it will automatically connect for WiFi calling, and yes, if you dial 911 it will show the address on file, not the address where you are calling from.

Once you have WiFi calling set up, it really isn't difficult to toggle it on or off, depending on your situation. That's what I do. You can turn off WiFi calling independent of WiFi, so if you wanted to use WiFi at your friends house but use cellular for calls, you can do that.
