Help How do I get rid of home screen popup ads?

Hey guys,

I've just gotten a S7 Edge about a week ago and all is well for the most part, but yesterday I started getting some really unpleasant popup ads on my home screen and I can't get rid of them. I've tried uninstalling the majority of the apps that I may think the adware may be associated with to no avail.

Anyone have any tips other than factory resetting your phone to get rid of this? They seem to just appear on the home screen at random, covering the screen in full, or when I open Facebook.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

take a read on this link, and see if you don't get some ideas about turning off the offending app.
Settings/app mgr/applications/

use the 3 dot menu,
select 'overlays' and turn off everything period....

see if that fixes your problem. if it does, turn them on one at a time, when you find the bad app, delete it.

This is another tick ✅ in the Pro column for rooting. They are trying hard to take the ability away from us. Make us have to live with this crap on a daily basis. I'd rather take a short leap off a tall bridge. Thank you. Or is it vice versa.
The first thing I notice when I use somebody else's device.... ads! If I pay $800 dollars for something, warrantee be damned, I'm going to make it mine.
I apologize for ranting, but I am passionate about such things.
