If you really want to taste great coffee, especially black coffee, then go buy a cheap bean grinder and grind the beans immediately before you brew the coffee. That is the best way to get the depth of flavor you are after. The wife and I have decided that the next time we go to the spice store we are trying some of their coffee. It's been over a year since my post above and the desire to explore something better than a tub from the grocery store has peaked. I have no idea what we'll try. I'll be leaning on the expert advice from the coffee personnel at the shop. I like my coffee black. I want something more robust with a nicer finish than Folgers. My wife doctors her coffee so with creamers and such that I can't imagine it making a great deal of difference what coffee she starts with. Wish me luck and if you have any suggestions... they are welcomed.
I am 30 miles away from TJ Maxx.. But I will check it out next time I am up in town.If you live in area that has a HomeGoods, Ross's, Marshall's or TJ Maxx go check them out for coffee and tea, they often carry a wide variety of independent coffee and tea, the price are reasonable it allows you to break out of the traditional coffee, Folgers, Maxwell house, etc
