Android 10

It hasn't hit me, yet, but then again I haven't manually checked for an update either.
I manually checked, thought about it for a while, then did it.
As I use my phone, I'm finding new things. When I change the volume within an app, the volume pop-up says "Adjust by app". Tap that and two more volume sliders appear. One for the app I'm in and the other for my Button Mapper app. Unfortunately, it does nothing when I change the volume for the current app. So, back to the drawing board.

Interesting.
Think I'll wait a bit longer to check mine. Shoot, I'm still learning things about it, still.
Hey Pit,
Can you tell me which theme you are using. I think we were using the same Pie black theme. It isn't compatible with Android 10 and it is no longer on Google. Do you have the author's email? Thanks

Well, I tried to wait out verizon. I knew my phone was acting sluggish, yesterday, and figured that it was the update, downloading in the background.

Woke up today to find a notification that said í had a system update ready to install. Checked the "Learn More" button, and found this-

They're gonna make us take it, like it or not.
I'm gonna enjoy 9 for the rest of the day, I guess, and let it go what it wants when it goes through it's scheduled reboot at 3:00 AM, tomorrow morning.

Then I can spend all day Sunday finding what they messed up.

I guess I didn't wait long enough to get threatened. I still think that's a bunch of crap. Why should we have to update especially when it makes some changes that can effect important apps. The alarm system of my calendar, that I rely in heavily, is screwed up. I use a borescope that attaches to the USB C port. That no longer works. They have no right to force it down our throats. Good luck Pit. Actually, it has some nice things too and I haven't had any other issues so far. Be prepared, after the update, to be updating your apps too. That will slow up your phone for awhile.

While I've been looking forward to the system wide dark theme, there are some apps/pages that I prefer to leave normal. As much as I like the dark, some things just don't look right.

I agree. That's why I tried your theme. Unfortunately, that wouldn't work. I wrote to the developer asking if he was going to update this theme or write a new one for Android 10. I'll let you know if I get a response.

I posted a question on the XDA forum, as well.

When my phone updated to 9, I really disliked it because of the loss of the theme.
If it wasn't for the alarm issue I'm having, I think I like most of the other changes. In Android 9 I had complete control of my calendar alarms; how long they lasted, how many times they repeated, how long to "snooze" them. It was great. Now they beep for 15 seconds and that's it. :spitoutdroid:

"mandatory"
nice one Verizon!

In over ten years of using Android devices. I've only ever seen two "mandatory" forced, like it or not updates, one was Samsung Galaxy NOTE7, to neuter battery charging, and other was Google with the Covid-19 API Play Service update.

Glad I'm still ignoring the message then. I'm pretty certain that it'll update itself soon but the more I hear, the more resolved I am that I won't initiate it .

So far, Mark, what's happening?

The list keeps getting longer. The calendar alarms that I thought we found a work around for, is inconsistent.
The volume locker stopped locking the Ringer volume for no reason.
A timer app I use stopped displaying properly.
The camera adjustments & settings has changed. I have to figure out where things are again and how to do things.
I don't like the way the Dark Mode displays a lot of things. Most notably the notification list. It doesn't separate the different notifications well. Everything looks black.
That's most of it so far.
