Zte restarting loop

No matter what I do, my phone restarts over and over again and it's not once, it just keeps going and I'm so frustrated. I tried to reboot it and press the power button to stop it but it keeps going and going. It's stuck, going on a continous loop and I need help before I smash my phone in. Thanks.

Boot into recover and wipe it that's the only thing I can think of

I find that in most cases like this one where no matter what you do even holding down the power and volume down button to reset the phone it just keeps looping. The cause is usually either your phone is wet inside or you have a broken power button. The fix is simple enough. First remove the back, second remove or disconnect the battery if posible. There is supposed to be a white dot on the battery and or the phone. If it is red instead it means the phone has been wet. Next take out the screws and remove the inner cover. Then check for any signs of moiisture. If it's wet at all use a blowdryer on low (not rice it's virtually useless)till all visible signs of moisture are gone and continue for around 5 min. Then reassemble and try it. If it was not wet, locate and inspect the inner Power button. It will be in the same place the outer button was before you disassembled the phone. It should be clean dry and not damaged. It should click when gently pressed with your thumbnail. If it seems to be bad find a video on YouTube on replacement for your specific phone. Good luck.

So I think I found the problem. I think its either the charging port or the Power button. One thing that worked for me was to press the volume up button.

After doing that it came out of the boot loop.

I'm using the OEM charging cable and it's charging up just fine the port on the bottom is working okay and so far everything seems to be functioning is it supposed to.

initially there was quite a bit of debris and the charge port so I clean that off with some alcohol and some cotton swabs and now I'm going to go back in with a toothbrush but so far it's charging and it's not the bootloop I'm just waiting for it to go ahead and self update.

I'll give you guys updates and see or trying to find out what the problem is

UPDATE:

I have CONFRIMED:

1. USB 3.0 "Port" is indeed in need of replacement. A simple clean helped, but still, loose connection. I am going to order a new spare, or install one I have laying around.

2. The Volume Up Key did seem to fix the problem of getting OUT of the Boot Loop.

3. I was able to charge the Battery, put the SIM Card that came with the phone I purchased from EBAY and, had it up for over 2 hours no problems.

4. My son (Who Dropped his phone while on a bike ride) is now using the android Data function from one device (His tablet) to find the phone and swap info on his account. (Successful.)

5. Phone seems to be rebooting with Android Logo and doing updates

6. Dad saved the day again!

=========
How I got the problems fixed (I think crossing fingers)

A. Booted into Recovery Mode.
B. Used the wipe cache, option
C. Used the Reset Phone factory defaults option
D. Looked at logs.
E. had phone up just idling for a while to make sure it was working. (2 hours or so on USB-2 power bank and OEM charge cable)
F. restarted phone (While On charger)
G. Inserted SIM that came with device.
H. Connected to Home WiFi Networks
I. Let phone go through Welcome Screen arrow.

=============

Seems things are working again. The power buttons and volume buttons all seem to be working just fine. Only the USB seems to have a slight connection problem when the cable has any stress put on it.
My Other ZTE Zmax is Honey Badger about it and does not care even if HANGING from the USB Cable.

Seems like this one is just wore out and needs a new on put in there. So might as well just order a new Charge port.

Looks like all is well. Just make sure to Let go of the POWER switch as SOON as the DEVICE Enters its chime like the videos posted online, and you should be able to get into recovery mode, and reset the phone.

========

Under the logs it seems like this phone has been Hard reset a few times. About 4 from what I can count in the logs or more. So Seems there still might be some problem that might creep up. Still think it is the USB, or hardware. Hoping it was just a corrupt update or bad try at root.

Seems like I'm not getting any Messages from my kid, so seems all is good so far.

===========

Upon getting the phone I did software reset the phone. The Facebook account and google accounts were still active on the phone when I got it. SO erased all that data. (Of course)

The Stock battery was from 2016, so I ordered a 2020 battery so that should last at least a year or so before it needs a new one. I never bother with using the sticky tape. Just makes replacement harder down the line. But it has a New battery in it. (along with my second ZTE ZMAX Pro. (Battery could no longer supply current and died at less then 90% charge when taken off the charger. )

I'm ordering a new case for it right now. I have the old one, but will be putting it back in a case in the morning as screen and body are 9-10 with a few scratches and one drop, but its in a case so no one is going to see it when it arrives from AMAZON.

(Coverware case)

These things really are TANKS!

Anyways, I hope this helps some of you reset your phones. Amazing these still go for over a $100 bucks used in okay condition in the use market. (software has not been updated in a while and ZTE dropped the phone from all support it seems from the end user. )

Glad its working so far! Hope the rest of you fair as well!
