Hello,
I bought two used Motorola Moto G4Play with XT1602 modem. My plan is to have one with postmarketOS and one with regular Android 7.1.1 installed to compare and get out, if postmarketOS is a OS I can use.
As being a Blackberry User, I could not imagine, how much Android depends on a Googleaccount, so I found out, that it could be a big problem, if the former Googleaccount is not deleted from the device before it is resetted.
Now the problem is:
The preowner of one of the G4Plays says, that he didn't delete the account before he did the reset. I'm in doubt, if he ever did a reset and I'm sure he did no factory reset (he did not know what the fastboot mode is). When I was not able to enter the screen lock, I had to use the same graphical pattern, that he used. I cannot find any hints of a google-account or any other Emailadress in the settings of the phone. Is it possible it is still related to a google account then ? When I tried to do a factory reset, I was shown a warning (see pictures). But I'm not sure, if this has to do with related Google-account, or if this is an obligatory warning with no need of a real existing relation.
The preowner of the 2nd G4Play told me, he deleted the account and obviously did a factory reset afterwards. When I start the device, it starts with the welcome screen. But - what makes me suspicious - is the fact, that in the fastboot - mode I get the same warning, that I should have the old Emailadress with the password, when I would do a factory reset (wich is not necessary in the moment).
What I need to know is: Does this warning mean in both cases that the phones are related to a Emailadress explicitly, or is shown in any case, when you are trying to do a factory reset in the fastboot mode ?
Thanks for your answer
