Accessories Seidio 1750 Follow Up

I didn't bother with the metrics or obsessive monitoring, however I noticed within a week of installing the Innocell that my power bottomed out at around 40% by the end of the day, even with relatively heavy use and no charging, whereas it was closer to 20% or less with the stock battery.

With the stock battery I frequently felt the need to charge mid-day, with the Seidio, I only charge overnight.

Monday night was my 5th charging cycle. I tried to drain the battery last night and fell asleep. I had a good hour of phone calls, a couple hours of Last.FM, plenty of texts and internet browsing. Even some quality time trying to beat the best scores on Slimeball Speedway and I still went to bed around 12 last night with 38% on the battery. I unplugged it at 7AM. I know that's the type of anecdotal evidence that people don't like, but it works for me and the battery is well worth the price paid.

After a week with the battery; it looks like I'm one of the select few that saw a little improvement.

However, I did see an improvement to be fair. these are my observations

With the stock battery: 4-5 hours of bat life
With the 1750: 5-6 hours of bat life

On average I gained about an hour a day...

I think you are having software problems with certain apps. Make sure that nothing is keeping your phone awake when it should be asleep.

That is impressively short. How do you use your phone?

So at worst, you saw no improvement, at best you saw a 50% improvement, or an average of 22% increase. Sounds about right.

But those numbers are still crazy low. You must be streaming Pandora or navigating with GPS to get that. Or your signal is really really bad.

To be fair I am a HEAVY user...I mean heavy...

GPS, Slacker Radio, Games, Phone Calls, Facebook, Email, Android forums ;)

I'm an IT Consultant so I live off my phone :)

I use the "Advanced Task Killer" ...but I don't know about the "non sleeping" apps...how can I check that?

...in any event I did see an improvement....just not the "I left it unplugged for 48 hours and I still have %50" improvement that most people had :\

I'm in a similar boat, since my job affords... a fair amount of "playing on the phone" time. It's a big boost from the stock, but I don't think I'll ever see 36 hours of unplugged time.

Besides, I never leave it unplugged for that long to begin with. I remember reading in numerous places that it's good for Lithium batteries to be constantly plugged in.

Couple of hours of Last.FM/streaming radio and you still have 38% at the end of the day?

I'm on my third day, it's definitely given me a boost. I travel a lot, so I use GPS heavily. I also tend to do a lot of browsing (3G and with wifi). The stock battery needed to be charged by 6pm most nights. With the new battery I have made it to the end of both nights with more than 30%.

Big improvement. I left it on over night with everything running so I could fully drain it and it still had 15% this morning. Playing Robo Defense for a half hour cleared that problem up :).

I have gotten into the habit of killing the calender service and also turn the phone off after charging until I get the green light so it switches to orange and then charging again until green.

Having said all that, if I used my charge up in 6 hours it's definitely because of extremely heavy usage. If people are experiencing that in "normal" conditions, I bet it's due to services/apps not closing properly or a faulty device.

Early adopters often pay the highest price in more ways than one.

Ah. So are you listening to the radio a lot, and pushing/pulling facebook and e-mail every 30 minutes or so? I guess if you are doing everything you listed constantly your battery is going to fade quick!

What do you use your GPS for?

Yes :D ...I wasn't kidding when I said "heavy user" ;)

The GPS is used when I don't know how to get to a new clients address so I pop it in Google Maps and I get turn by turn directions :)
