No, i like apple products.
Two wrongs don't make a right, do they? Suck it up and be the bigger man.
Tired of seeing a bunch of different topics complaining/comparing/weighing the two devices, so going to merge everything into this thread.
The comparisons between the two will always go on since one is the "king" and one is the upriser. However I hope we can limit all of it into one place so users who aren't interested in the banter aren't looking at tons of topics discussing the same thing.
So have it, but keep it civil or this will be trash bound, along with all other threads discussing anything iPhone 4 related on the Evo 4G forum.

So, the new design is a glass front and back with a metal band forming the edge. This metal band is now an antenna. It appears they are going for better signal with this design. Should be interesting how that pans out.

They have Fring for iphone. Don't have an iphone with the front camera (obviously), but I have videoconferenced with my gf on the 3GS. Her camera obviously didn't show anything.

I agree except I like Apple products including the iPhone but AT&T is just not gonna happen for my...been there done that. Having said that, I love Android also. I have a EVO and a Droid right now and love them. I love the fact on Android its not just one phone...you have many to choose from. People bash each others Android phones on here also. Hey its all good to me..you have a right to say what you want and vent sometimes but it does go a bit far at times. I'm a phone addict now and there all works of art...

I like the apple products, im just not "omg its an ipod". I own an ipod and currently am working on purchasing a macbook pro. They make quality stuff, just some of it is pricey and limited. I know that people bash others all the times, but its getting to a point now where its a bit out of hand.

Truthfully, this thread is the combination of maybe 5. It's ugly, messy, but I figure this is a better solution going forward than axing everything.

For me personally the new iPhone announcement made me feel better about buying the EVO. Yes the form factor of the new iPhone is great but there is nothing else that intrigues me about it. For me the EVO still wins and add on top of that the AT&T network issues and the new data pricing from AT&T and I am extremely happy I have my EVO.

Given that the iPhone also had 3G reception issues on other carriers, in other countries, I'm sure that was a primary driver of the design.

I started this thread to get maybe some devoloper awareness about the new api. I actually emaild Steve jobs about the api. Maybe in a few months we could get something started. Qik sucks for the evo plain and simple. I really would like to see this move foward. It would only take this 1 phone to get the ball rolling for android. Just need sombody or a group of people that are willing to make this happen.

That wifi only will be quickly remedied with a jailbreak I assume. There are already apps in cydia that do that, they just need to be updated to work with iOS 4.
True the storage costs more. Although you don't have to worry about class 2 vs 4 vs 6. etc. "It Just Works" LOL.
No seriously though, I use android now and am gonna stick with it.
The iPhone dealbreaker for me is AT&T.

My evo is my first droid phone (coming from palm pre) and so far I like it a lot. I do own a MacBook and I am actually typing this from my iPad so I guess I have the best of both worlds.. Apple does put out well designed consumer products that just simply work well, but since I've got my evo I can appreciate the open-source community and the tweakability of the android os a lot... android is the winmo that should have been.. so to each their own really.. i like having 4g speed, 8mp cam, 4.3" screen, flexible sd storage.. yeah it would be great to have the battery longevity of the iphone, but again the evo at least lets u replace ur battery or upgrade to a larger one...And we get a kickstand too!

Is no one impressed with the build quality of the iPhone? Features, OS, and Specs aside, I think the iPhone's greatest draw is its build quality.
For a long time i've always wanted a glass front and glass back. This makes the device incredibly scratch resistant and sexy as hell. Also the metal trim holds all the antennas, which is pretty cool.
The phone is thinner, but heavier than the 3GS, and has a bigger battery. This tells you that Apple engineers had to jump through many hoops to make this happen.

True it would be sexy... and able to withstand scratches....
but let me ask you this... how many people here have dropped thier phones??? 99.99% maybe, if not 100%??
If you drop a glass phone... what do you think you be the outcome of most phones????
sounds kind of risky to me... but I am sure apple has thought of this.. so maybe they have some extra coating on the glass for better shock resistance... but still.. cant be 100%.
