Root Using Launcher 2.1 in galaxo 1.6.2

while this launcher is very nice and visually the best launcher i have seen. I decided to move back to helix and remove the launcher from system/app/ as galaxo was storing it in memory as it sees it as Launcher.apk and so i was losing 10mb ram without doing anything.

Now im back to helix i have 47mb ram free

i was doing it that way from 7.5 then i realised that the dev updates it quite a bit and if you update from market it runs as standalone and the one in launcher is ignored.
if you then try and move and overwrite it or remove the one from the market after updating launcher in system/app it loses previous settings and you have to re configure it.
the speed this dev is updating makes it a bit of a hassle so what im doing is just installing it from market and removing launcher.apk from system/app
it works nice and smooth and i can update from the market with out issue as its only launcher/home that the device is detecting as installed

I'll try this out, and if it works I'll change the instructions.

Funny, im using the ADW installed from the market, and after removing the /system/app/launcher.apk im still having the same amount of RAM free. About 33 Mb max, same as it was before.

Im doing something wrong here :)
depends what else is in use. youll just find its smoother and doesnt lag when you open walpaper/pictures (if other launcher is installed it has a black screen for about 2 mins
