I love the fact that we have so many options as far as customization goes with android. It's like I learn something new everyday especially from this forum and members like you. Thanks for all your help man!

not completely, there are still elements of sense on the phone, you cant change that (without custom rom), but you wont see any on your homescreen.

You can always swap between the 2 by going into settings and changing the launcher defaults (a much easier way to do so though is download home switcher form the market, which lets you choose which one to default to much easier)

So, how bad does the battery life take a hit with live wallpapers? Is the slowdown they cause substantial too?

Call me paranoid, but many of the malware apps that have been identified/removed from the android market were somehow marked as 'sexy' and/or 'wallpaper' or a similar title...
If I really really really had to have such a wallpaper, there are millions of pictures one can download from the web and set as wallpaper... really - no brain surgery involved.
These ones being advertised by LFSTAR may not be malware - I have no idea... but I do not intend to find out.
