You and Me both! Android Market sounds more professional and a good sounding competitive name against Iphone Apps (or whatever theyare called).


How can anyone take "GooglePlay" seriously as a catchy name anyway.

To me it sounds more like Googl-PAY

I quite like the icon but the Play name sounds a bit Toys 'R' Us to me.

To me, Android Market made more sense rather than Google Play. I like Android Market better because it was, I don't know, for Android?

I still dislike the name change. I find it ironic that it became Google Play at the same time it ceased being exclusively games, and added movies, music, magazines, book, etc.

Yeah i think thats the idea that they were going for. "Its not just for 'geeks' its for all your fun entertainment needs" kinda thing
Market was fine with me.. a 'place' to buy stuff

Same here. Looks like Google tried to get the corner on being THE social-media source from music to movies with their 'facebook' version of Google
