I'm using the Sense rom, and even with the latest update, this rom had seemed to magically let me free up a whole bunch of the phone's internal memory with a2sd, and it all worked great. I was still using the original 2 GB SD card that comes with the phone.
Today I switched to an 8 GB SD that my friend gave me. It was the one he used to use until he upgraded to a 16 GB one on his. I partitioned it in recovery as follows: linux swap 32 mb, ext3 1024 mb, fat32 remainder. I got all my apps set back up, but even after migrating as many user apps as I could except the few that need to stay on the phone to work properly, I no longer have 100+ MB remaining in phone internal memory. It's still only at 36.9 MB remaining according to Titanium Backup. With the same apps, I used to leave many more on the phone, and I'd still have over 100 MB left.
I also notice that whereas with my original SD, Titanium Backup used to show me how much space was being used in the a2sd partition, and it no longer does.
This 8 GB card is a class 2 card. Nothing is force closing on me despite a bunch of people saying its such a bad idea to use class 2 for this.
Any ideas anyone?
