Help Android 2.2.1 cannot stop keyborad vibration & sound

I have used my Galaxy Ace for a while. For sms I have always turned off:

1) vibrate when keying
2) sound when keying
3) predictive features

Had no problem until today, the phone mysteriously set all 3 of the above on. Been to "language & input" but could not see any settings which is different from expected.

Researched and found many users refer to Settings --> Language & Keyboard --> Touch Input --> Text Input --> Text
I do not have "Touch Input" under that

Also do not have "Haptic feedback" under Menu - Settings

Any help will be appreciated.
