Android 9.0 update Night Mode

I received the Android 9.0 Pie update today. I have a Samsung Note 8. My phone is in night mode but night mode is not turned on. Calendar is dark, Messages is dark calculator is dark.., I do not like it! I want things lighter. I have looked every where for help. I try to turn on night mode and it says this function will not work with High Contrast Text. I have looked everywhere to change that. I have default settings. Has anyone else had this problem?

Hmmmm do you have a theme installed. Have you tried to reboot the phone?

Also try and turn off the high contrast text feature and then try turning on/off night mode

Check to see if you have "Settings > Display > Advanced > Style or Device theme > Light".

I have tried this. Cant find anything that says high contrast fonts...

I was playing around w/the night mode and the high contrast font. I don't see high contrast text.

To get to high contrast font:

Settings>Accessibility>Visibility enhancements>High Contrast fonts

All the other high contrast settings are there

Which theme do you have installed? Was it installed prior to the Pie update?

I have the Infinity Default 1 theme installed. I installed after the update. I had had some wallpaper installed that I found on Zedge.

I have looked in every menu, setting everywhere... I cannot find high contrast fonts. Where you told me to look, I have been here a hundred times. I see high contrast keyboard. All settings here are turned off.

Are you on T-Mobile?

Not sure what else to do from here since all your high contrast settings are off.

I wonder if that theme is affecting anything?? It shouldn't but you never know.

Have you tried going back to the original stock theme and then rebooting and see what happens.

I have a screenshot posted. It is not on there.
I just reset my settings. I'm off night mode. YAY!
But I have to connect my bluetooth stuff, wifi, etc.
But! I'm not stuck on night mode!!! Woohoo!

Weird cuz on my note 8 with pie the option is there.

Maybe your update to pie got screwed up somehow. You might want to think about a factory reset.

Oh wow I just noticed the "Reset settings" option. That might be a new troubleshooting step.

Did you reset ALL settings to default?
