Help annoying apps

Hiya.only had my 1st android phone a few weeks and after gettin the app killer app noticed that a lot of apps keep opening even without me doing anything on the phone.no wonder the battery goes so quickly on it,just wondering if you can stop all these random app from doing what they like or not,since getting the app killer noticed the battery is lasting a bit longer but still annoying!
