just saw this new rom was out wondering if anyone had imput on it?
How are you going to post up a question about a Rom, get some of us excited, and then no post a link to where to get it and/or info on it from the developer! Shame on you!
More info please.
party foul on my part.......[ROM] Pancake 0.1 - xda-developers also there is a couple other 1.5 builds just spawning up look in the hero cdma section theres all kinds of goodies...its snowed so i was slow at work all day...i sat on xda like it was my job lol
ha, thats funny, but yeah the pancake is teh bomb.
Running it now. Will post up if I see something I don't like.
Cool, i like Roms.keep us posted and thanks!
They are cooking up a few new ROMS over at XDA....how ever, not sure if any of them compare to Fresh 1.1. We will see with all the feed back they are getting.
I tried to help one of the DEV's sign a new one call Souffle 1.1 and he got his up and running....here is the link to it
[ROM] Souffle 1.1 (2/27/10) [ROM] Souffle 1.1 (2/27/10) - xda-developers
I'll have to play with them next week. I'm WAY too drunk to mess with them right now. Plus, I've got a meeting all morning tomorrow, so I want to make sure my internet and everything is working
I just downloaded the Pancake one and I'll give it a shot.
I'm running Pancake as we speak and it's a hell of a lot fast than fresh. Don't have to install a new kernel over it or anything. GBHill released a Gumbo Kernel Stove Pipe edition for this one and man is it working.
faster than fresh those are strong words! haha im gonna have to try it since you said that...since darch isnt releasing his newest creation of 2.1till sunday
yeah, I have had it installed since you first posted up austin, and I think it just might as well be faster than fresh 1.1. the kernal from gumbo is .31, this one is signed .32
But yeah, loving the pancakes!!!!!!!
I installed it at like 2:00 in the morning and haven't had much time to test it yet. Been busy at work all day, everyone decided to wait till Saturday to get their cars fixed. So far haven't seen anything I don't like. I do have less free RAM than before.
edit: found my own answer.
This rom is based off of gumbo1.5c almost completely. Looks like a few images or apps have been further compressed to knock ~20 Kb off the file sizes. Gumbo.sh uses the same settings.
How's battery life compared to fresh with gumbo and setcpu?
so far i like it !!
running w. out setcpu :O going to test it all day to see how it manage the battery
Really liking this rom
here is my current setup
xda-developers - View Single Post - [ROM] Pancake 0.1
Anyone else having mms problems with this ROM? I really like it so far, battery seems good with it, overclock widget didn't like it, it kept going back to 245 instead of staying at 528, but I don't seem to be getting any mms messages. The keyboard lags a little while typing in Tue browser (Dolphin)
there's one big difference in pancake compared to Gumbo 1.5c... the kernel used in pancake has NO memkiller settings applied. if they added the lowmemkiller settings (either aggressive of less aggressive) then it would be even better. I have to wait until Monday before I can play with any ROMs.. I'm on call this weekend
Not sure what else has to be changed but these are the current settings on mine
lol... see what happens when I get almost no sleep and post.. the OC version of the gumbo kernel was the one with no lowmemkiller settings.. so ignore my earlier post.. too many ROMs and kernels.. too little time
Gbhil added a user configuration update zip that you can flash to his rom as a afterthought for people that didn't want to run set cpu. It would not be hard to flash over the pancake rom. It just replaces the gumbo.sh file with an updated one. HOW-TO Customizing the boot script for Gumbo ROM 1.5c - Android Central Forums
I am running these numbers
1536,2048,4096,10240,15320,23040 That is the aggressive setting but I tweaked the 4th number a little because HTC social networks was hanging up all seems fine now no FC or hang ups yet.
Thanks for the info.
I made some modifications to the pancake...File is flashable
First of all...I want to thank bikcmp over at XDA for answering the questions I had. I tested this to make sure it worked properly. Now onto what I included in my signed zip file
Stock and Widget
Twitter & Widget
Footprints & Widget
Android File Browser
Spare Parts (Install from market so that way you can check when updates are available)
Nexus One boot-screen
TeleveNav GPS Navigator (Same as sprint but works faster)
lowmemorykiller is set to 1536,3072,4096,21000,23000,25000
Note: Make sure to wipe before flashing file
if you dont mind me asking about the memory killer what exactly do those numbers represent...is it somewhat the same as the gumbo kernal 31??
