I just upgraded from Samsung S4 to LG G3 and have found several apps are not available on the LG; i.e. Starbucks and Redbox. Has anybody else run into this?

Just checked for me also, and yes, both apps say "incompatible with my device".

I installed the APK for Redbox and it works just fine.

Redbox is available from the Amazon app store. Look there for some you can't find on the play store.

This was great information. I've been trying to figure out how to get Amazon Prime Video on my g3 since I got it. It was in the Amazon App Store. :)

I noticed a lot of different apps on the Amazon app store. Not sure why they have different standards, but it is what it is...

I just got a lg g3 with at&t yesterday went to download my apps from Google play and it said.... This device is not compatible for the following apps...
Angry birds stars wars 1&2, redbox and vudu(for streaming ultraviolet movies).....
    That to me seems odd!!!!!!

Play Store has the worst compatibility filter known to exist. It's wrong 99.99% of the time.

Its up to the devs of said apps, to update the apps so they are compatible with the G3 screen resolution and/or added to the compatible list.

It is also up to Google to make the compatibility filter actually work. It seems to allow tons that truly aren't compatible to install and wreak havoc, but blacklists apps which run fine when side loaded. Either the developers are very stupid or Google should simply do away with the compatibility filter until it can actually do its job properly (Play Store is the only app store with that asinine filter)

The Starbucks app works on mine and always worked. I use it to pay for my drinks.

as i stated, 99.99% of the time, the app that Play Store assumes is 'not compatible with your device' would often work perfectly fine, be it from Amazon App Store, or sideloaded from the APK. the problem comes when paid apps are affected--as you can't simply find the APK online there.

I've seen apps flagged as not compatible because they're being installed on a phone without a rear camera. even though the app in question didn't even make use of the camera--it simply triggered that flag on Play Store and wouldn't allow certain apps to work unless your device had a rear camera--whether they made use of it or not.
