Auto-Reconnect to phone

As the title says really, should the watch auto-reconnect to the phone if it loses connection?

I have noticed that if i go to far away from my phone, the watch displays the 'cloud' icon, but as i return back to being close to my phone, it never seems to auto-reconnect. I have to go into the phone and re-connect back again in the app on the phone.

This to me sounds like a bit of a bug as i would have expected auto-reconnect.

Anyone else noticed this?

mine reconnects after a few minutes when back in range, but it does seem to take its time sometimes.
