Blocking malicious redirects

I'm using oneplus 5T with stock oxygen OS, and android 7.1.1. I have rooted it and installed Adaway as well. I am also using the xposed module ad blocker reborn.

Browsing internet(Chrome and Firefox) on my phone has become a headache now. Every second website I open, generates a popup saying speed up your phone.

Pressing back button to return to the page that you were browsing also turns out to be futile. It culminates into another fake virus warning popup.

I scanned my phone with free Kaspersky and avg Antivirus and found no malware in my phone. Clearing data of app, cache and dalvic from recovery mode hasn't helped so far.

What can I do to prevent these annoying redirects?
