Root Bricked, but why?

How do i do that? I don't see it anywhere in CWM

had to reflash CWM because I use TWRP and it's been so long since I've even touched CWM (I found it really odd to use after getting used to TWRP lol) anyways go to mounts and storage and format /data, hope you can get your phone back

I formatted data and reinstalled CWM (Super fast install i don't know if it was supposed to be.) still no luck. :(

I already factory rest and i wiped cache partition. Also i tryed what soxtober05 suggested but i cant put the files in the recovery location because my phone is boot loop and wont turn on

This method should still work; just remove the ext sd from the phone, and use use a pc instead of the phone. Navigate to clockwork/backup folder, and drop the '404' file in the root of that folder.. As long as you can boot to recovery, you should be able to data wipe/fac reset; then open restore from ext sd, and flash the new file...ez/pz.

You can still boot to CWM, yes?

Ok i found a micro sd to sd but my computer dose not have a sd slot. So i used a diffrent computer that had a sd card slot to download the files. i plugged the sd card in and i dont see where im supposed to put the files.

Create a folder on your sd named "clockworkmod" (without quotes), and then inside that folder create another folder named "backup", then put the files Sox suggested in the backup folder

After the samsung logo it flashes blue then the screen goes black. It plays the VM tune but nothing shows up on the screen

Just so I'm clear on this - you ARE able to boot into cwm?
And the blue screen happens when you boot normally, after you flashed the zjones stock backup?

im able to boot into CWM and the blue screen happens after i restore with the files from soxtober

Ok, well that's not all bad. I was afraid you were getting the blue screen while in cwm!

So the zjones backup isn't working for you, or at least the display isn't. Give me a bit, I'm going to try to make a new stock backup from my own reverb, then I'll post it for you to try.

Hang on - you've flashed the recovery successfully, but have you used the recovery to flash a backup (or recovery image) yet? Which files from Sox specifically did you use?

It might sound like an insulting question, but I only ask because I made that mistake when I first started messing with these things. I was confusing "recovery" and "backup". I kept trying to restore my bootlooped phone with the stock recovery when what I actually needed was a stock backup and a custom recovery. :/ lol took me a while to figure that one out

edit: Ok, got it backed up, now I'm just testing it out before I upload it

yet another edit @ 5:44 pm EST: I have tested it, and it works fine, so it's now uploading to my Google drive

I used all the files from sox. Im still confused on what your saying about "recovery" and "backup".:o

But i went to backup/restore and then restore from external sd. I attached a picture of the files i restored.

OK, yeah, that's exactly what you're supposed to do. :)

Still not sure why that's not working, I'm thinking maybe that backup is too old for your phone maybe? Since it's an original ICS ROM.

But my upload is finally done!

Basically I factory reset my Reverb and made a new backup of it. It should already be updated with JB up to the most recent M12 update. It probably also has some non stock ringtones and a non stock boot animation and sound, but nothing you wouldn't play in front of your grandmother. It also has mrg666's custom kernel.

RESTORE with CWM 6.0.3.6 as a BACKUP. SO, unzip it first and put it in a folder just like the one you did above in your screenshot, on your SD card in your clockworkmod>backup folder.

DO NOT TRY TO FLASH THIS AS A ZIP, it won't work.

YOU MUST UNZIP THIS FIRST!

(Link removed cause it didn't work)

I have already cleared the MD5 sums in this for you, so don't worry about that step.

I think I remembered to put Superuser on there too, if I didn't, just flash it again with cwm, I saw you already had it on your sd in your screenshot.

Good luck!

error restoring /data! :(

Yes, I believe I remember seeing something about that around here somewhere or over at xda, either about throttling it somehow or at least removing the yellow triangle and resetting the flash count
