Brightness problem

Sometimes when i wake up my phone the brightness will be real dim it does this when i have the manual brightness set so if i put the phone to sleep and then wake it up the brightness will be ok this doesn't seem to happen when i have the auto brightness set any ideas.

Same here. Logged in tonight specicaly to complain about just this. I found that it happens after phone call, maybe related to proximity sensor?

I have also had this problem. Ususally hitting the Power/End button to put it to sleep then hitting it again to wake it up works. But that IS an annoying little quirk about this phone. Hope the update corrects it.

Me too. Its been doing it since the first OTA. I usually press end button to put to sleep then wake up.

I don't really have this problem. Mine is set to 50% brightness, auto backlight is disabled, screen timeout is set to 2 minutes. Not sure if one of your aps could be confusing your phone ie your phone is trying to timeout or go to sleep and the ap won't let it?

I'm part of this group too. its not too annoying, and only fix o have is hitting the lock and then unlocking it again

Same happens to me on occasion. Generally if I touch an empty space on the home screen it goes to full brightness (or at least, all the way up to what I have it set for). If that doesn't work a quick sleep/awake will correct it for me.
