Help cannot access social apps

[Android Question]

None of the social networking apps are working in my android lollipop since last week. They say "can't connect to internet". This is when other apps are using the mobile network seamlessly. They do work fine under hotspot, except WhatsApp, which still cannot send messages. I have already formatted my phone but the problem persists. Is there anything else that I should try??
