Root [CDMA] Wireless Tether Issue HTC Evo 3D

Newbie
I just unlocked my phone, flashed the recovery and superuser. I'm using the beta version 7 of Wireless Tether, it shows connected, but won't let me surf on Ipod Touch. Do I need to install anything else to make this work?

Nope, did you give it Superuser permission

Settings that works for me:

Device-Profile: HTC Evo 3D
Setup-Method: Auto
Enable WiFi-Encryption: On
Passphrase: hey wait a minute I'm not telling you that!!!
Hide SSID: Off
Change Channel: didn't touch it
WiFi-driver reload: On (which was the default)
Enable Access-Control: On
Change Lan: didn't touch it
MSS clamping: On
Routing fix: On
Change preferred DNS: didn't touch it
Change alternate DNS: didn't touch it

The only thing that I didn't have set was the device profile, still not working. I went back and tried to re-install the su zip and got the following error:

Mounting system...
Deleting system:bin/su...
Extracting files to system...
Setting SYSTEM:bin/su...
Creating SYSTEM;xbin/su symbolic link...
E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(status 0)

The funny thing is that Titanium Backup works, I"ve looked at the superuser app on the phone, everything looks fine.

Ok, I got su fixed, still can't tether, looked at the log and here's the results:

Did you flash a rom or kernel? If not, stock rom/kernel not modified just rooted with revolutionary can cause this issue

No, I haven't flashed any roms or kernels, just followed the instructions given for the HBOOT 1.5. I unlocked the phone via HTC, ran the TWRP recovery and then flashed the su zip.

Will Barnacle work with stock rom? I just got my EVO and was thinking of rooting it. I had my hero rooted and other than the tethering I really didn't find anything else that useful, and I like the stock rom thus far.

Thanks

I don't think so, but try it before you root

Actually I meant, after I root it can I keep the stock rom and use Barnacle for wireless tether?

Thanks again
