Have you ever bet on the music in a show? I say it's Erik Satie, but I don't know how to prove it. It's in a Perry Mason episode called The Case of the Scarlet Scandal. Mr. Aaron Chambers surprises Perry, Della, and Paul when they go to the house in the dark. Then he sits down and plays the piano, almost out of nowhere. I think it's some kind of gymnopedie and definitely in a minor. You wouldn't want me to lose 20 bucks, would you?

I know chamber music, a popular example being Antonio Vivaldi's Four Seasons.

I like Vivaldi, too. However, I'm looking for what Mr. Chambers was playing on the piano in that episode. I can't find it anywhere. By the way, I'm sorry I didn't file this under Off Topic but I guess I was in a hurry.

That's probably the best policy. Still, someone, or something, out there has the answer. Come on, someone or something!

Okay, here's the episode's IMDb page: The Case of the Scarlet Scandal. That's the good news.

The bad news is that the only music credited is an instrumental version of Petula Clark's hit "Downtown."

Don't give up though! There's still a lot of cyberspace to search...

Thanks, I already found that before I started the thread. I probably should have mentioned that. Where's another good part of cyberspace? Is there a site for people who are nuts about absolutely anything and everything Perry Mason?

There are many sites devoted to specific shows, like this. Just do a search for something like "perry mason wiki" or "perry mason fan site" or similar, and you'll find lots of places. However...

I think the BEST way to get an answer is to simply have someone with an extensive knowledge of this type of music watch the episode! I'm sure it's available on many streaming services, and it's in regular rotation on MeTV. It's definitely on Amazon. This beats spending hours or days on a perhaps futile search for a needle in a haystack. If you don't know anyone personally, you could try the music department at a local college or even ask a librarian at your local library for help.
