sell to to those that don't want or can't afford a high end phone.

thats like saying why sell a 2 ghz dual core cpu in a pc, when there are 3+ ghz quad/6 core cpu's out.

I guess you got a point. Nevertheless, there is a certain performance threshhold for conveniently operating. But then again, the 486 was appr. 300MHz.
