creating GIF in Video Player

Hey guys!
So I've made tons of Gifs from my videos recently, but now my (Galaxy s8 default) Video Player isn't showing the option to do so.

Normally you could just watch a video in Video Player that was saved in your gallery, pause it to a spot, and then hit the "Gif" button on the bottom right, and make a 2,4,or 6 second GIF. That GIF button has somehow gone missing now.

How do I get that back? I know I can make GIFs with smart select, but that's a bit more tedious.

Any help would be appreciated.

The app was probably updated and removed the feature.
Apkmirror may have a previous version

I got the same thing here.
My guess is they removed it so it can only be available on Note devices.
