Help Directional buttons Assigned to Shortcut buttons

I moved to the G2 from TP2...I am happy with the new phone with one exception...the TP2 arguably the best physical keyboard ever...And the G2's keyboard is great...but...I would love if I could assign directional buttons (left and right) to the two assignable shortcut buttons. This would make it so much easier to navigate through text as opposed to using the track pad. If anyone could help i'd much appreciate it!!!
