Help download directory - 2 differing lists of contents

moto g android 5

I have an icon called Downloads - it only shows 2 files

BUT if I use TotalCommander it shows these 2 files PLUS about 20 others (which I believe)
in /storage/emulated/0/downloads

So why doesn't the icon called Downloads show me everything?
