Dropbox coming to Android

anyway the app is installed, but it doesn't make the dropbox folder on the SD card. I guess thats the problem why its not working. :S

Yea I'm rooted too (MoDaCo). I'm still not sure where you got dropbox from, is it some development version that's pre-installed on Villian?

Just did a search in my Market and low and behold I find 'Dropbox'! BUT it's not the official app, it's an app made by 'Sendroid Studio'. They have just ripped off the name 'Dropbox' which I don't think Drew Houston and Arash Ferdowsi will be too happy about and all it is, is a link to the dropbox mobile website.

big dropbox user here.

sugarsync does essentially the same thing as dropbox but already has an android app. actually sugarsync has some capabilities that dropbox doesn't, like you can sync any folder(s), not just one. i still prefer dropbox for it's pure simplicity, so i just use sugarsync to sync my dropbox folder to my phone. the two work together seamlessly, allowing you to do things like sync your passwords file between your phone, desktop, and laptop.

EDIT: dropbox app now available in market.
EDIT: on jan 1, 2011, sugarsync will take back any referral bonus space you get. i suggest using dropbox unless you really need sugarsync's added functionality.

Because of this thread I have discovered dropbox and installed it yesterday.

As a long time user of Jungle Disk for online back up and sync, I find dropbox much more user-friendly and intuitive and I have now replaced "My Documents" with "My Dropbox" in windows explorer, no need to have the two folders and drag files into the other.
