Duplicate Gmail emails

I have 2 gmail addresses working on my dinc.

The problem is...when I receive an email it shows in the "mail" icon and in the "gmail" icon.


Is there a way to turn one off...and which icon would be most beneficial to use?


BTW...blackberry is dead to me.
