E-mail Problem....Probably ME!?!?!?

OK, somebody talk DOWN to me here....I'm a rookie.

When I first bought my Motorola Droid, eveytime someone sent me an E-mail to my verizon account, the thing would announce "DROID" and sure enough, I had mail.

I have fiddled some with the settings stuff, and now it will not receive E-mail. I don't what (if anything) I could have done to remove that feature, but the silence IS nice.

Any hope for me?

By the way, once it is working again, can I turn that dang "DROID" announcement off or replace it?????

1. are you talking about Gmail or ActiveSync?

2. When your email is open can you manually sync?

2b. You may have just turned off the "auto sync" setting.

When I go to settings, it says auto-sync (CHECKED) and then g-mail sync is on, but whay I want is my Verizon mail to sync again.

Well, heck! I don't know what just happened, but it's talking to me again. I only turned the G-mail sync off and back on again. (Sent myself an E-mail)

NOW, how do I change or turn off that annoying "DROID" announcement?

AND while I'm at it, what is the pro and con of turning on the Wi-Fi thingy????
