I have a Motorola Droid, 2.1-update 1, kernel version 2.6.20, build ESE81, and I have this question. My friend who has a Droid bought almost the same time has a little microphone on his screen keyboard that comes up and allows voice to text. I cannot get my keyboard to enable this function. I did go into Language and Keyboard and Andriod Keyboard settings and enabled Voice input, but this did not enable the little microphone button.
I can swipe the keyboard with my finger and the microphone/voice input appears to come up, but when I give it a phrase, it just hangs and say something like, "cannot connect." What gives? Isn't this recognition software built into the phone????
How do I enable this feature?
