error "the process sytem has stopped unexpectedly please try again"

hi i am getting this error whenever i plug in my sync cable and mount sdcard.
error message "the process system has stopped unexpectedly please try again htc hero"

upon killing, it restart and error again.

the only way to get it mount is to restart and it goes away for the first time.

using MCR3
htc hero.

any advice.
