i had a at&t 2.1 eclair and upgraded to gingerbread.
i am at the step where i have to install a rom, can i use this rom

can i just know put the phone in recovery in cwm go to mount usb and drag the zip file of this rom,
also the new 2.2 and 2.3 dont have the unkwown sources feature so how do i put my games that i download from internet onto the phone.
also can i get a rooting tool for 2.3
i have samsung captivate which is not rooted at the moment.
