In short, I have been running the Rubix rom for awhile now (1.5, haven't updated beyond that yet) and I have grown tired of things seemingly not working properly (for example, the swype keyboard VERY rarely allows me to quick-change a word with 1 tap since I have been running Rubix, but it did before hand, and other small things like that).
Almost every rom I have tried has had little bugs here and there that, while they are not showstoppers, they definitely make little things annoying.
That being said, I am still running the original leaked 2.3.15 from before the 2.2/2.3 (or whatever version it was) OTA update. Would it be worth my while to update to the latest OTA and just leave it stock? In all honesty I use my phone usually an hour or so a day, so I don't feel I will notice any potential speed improvements from custom roms, beyond that I am tired of updating to a custom rom, waiting for an update to fix a bug, then having an update two days after that which fixes a few other bugs.
In short I want it to just work as best as possible with little maintenance, so I figure going with the official OTA, rooting and removing small apps I won't use like the Blockbuster app, then leaving it alone is probably going to be my best bet for less of a headache.
Honestly the only reason I used a custom rom to begin with was because it was suppose to be faster and just a bit of my geek side shining through in an attempt to play around with my phone in times of boredom, but now I am starting to get annoyed by little things (for example, today a phone process, specifically only labeled as "init" was stuck at 70+% CPU usage, I couldn't end it with a task killer and had to reboot my phone to fix it). I honestly never really noticed any speed increases in my phone outside of Quadrant benchmarks...
So, my plan is to SBF flash back to 2.1, then do the OTA updates to whatever the latest is, and just leave my phone mostly stock from there, does that sound like a good idea based on what I want out of my phone?
