'This app is incompatible with all of your devices'

    Hi

I'm new to Android and have spent a good few fruitless hours trying to find an app to enable me to see my Google calendar on my Alcatel Onetouch, which comes with Gingerbread 2.3.6.

    Here are my questions:

    1. Will the app announced in this thread work for this version of Android?
    2. If so, why can't I see it in Google Playstore? (I am in Spain. Maybe a delay in release here?)
    3. If the app announced here won't work for me, is there another one that will?

    Many thanks for any help.

OK. So I've just seen that the new app is incompatible with my version of Android.

    Is there an alternative?

You don't need the app to get the Google Calendar on your phone.

Its as simple as logging on ON your phone, then going to menu>settings>accounts and sync>your Google account>check Calendar.

Then go to your calendar app>menu>settings>calendars> put a check on your Google Account.

    Many thanks for that information.
    I've set up the syncing.
The problem is that when I go to the Calendar app which came with the phone the menu doesn't give me a settings option.

Is there another Calendar app that I could install?

    Thanks again.:)

Sorry, forgot to mention this is for 4.0.3 (ICS) or later only. I sometimes think my phone was the last one to get ICS and assume everybody else is running it.

    1. No.
    2. See above.
    3. Business Calendar has always worked well as an alternative for me. Not sure if it will work for you or not.

this makes me happy. the google calendar isn't perfect, but the "S Calendar" app that came with my galaxy S3 comes with the most hideous colors, and I haven't found another app that works well for me.

This may be a dumb question, but how do disable the stock calendar app on my Galaxy S3? I downloaded and really like the Google calendar app, but I am getting two reminders for every appointment since it is syncing with both.

Just started using the calendar that came on my RAZR M. I was able to set up Google Calendar on my PC and sync it to my phone. The holidays are on the PC but not on the phone. Does anyone know how to add them without installing a seperate app? Thanks.

Just go into the stock calendar settings and disable notifications there.
