Root Help with rooting a Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900V

Hello All,
I am new at this so please be gentle. I have a brand new Verizon Galaxy Notes 3 SM-N900V. I want to root it and hopefully flash the ROM to something Marshmallow based. Any suggestions on Custom ROM's and rooting tools and/or procedures? I am running Android version 5.0 now.
