how do i save my apps to my external drive of my gallaxy young as it is using to much battery

Easiest way - connect the external drive to your computer. Connect the phone to the computer and drag/drop files from the phone to the drive. When you're satisfied that they copied properly, delete them from the phone.

If the drive connects by USB, and is internally powered (you plug it into the wall for power), you can use an OTG cable to connect it directly to the phone.
