How does Navigation calculate routes?

Hi,

I keep wondering how maps/navigation calculates routes!


1) Does it consider the current traffic situation?
2) If yes: Only when I initially set the route or even while I am driving?
3) If bad traffic occurs while I am driving: Does it incorporate this into the time estimate?
4) Is there a way I can switch the time estimate to show arrival time instead of minutes remaining?
