Root How to back up before ODIN?

The best app I have found for backing up my apps is Titanium Backup. It requires root. If you are already running a custom rom then you have root.

Titanium Backup has batch operations. You can backup all of your apps with just a couple of clicks. When you flash a rom you reinstall Titanium and use batch restore. If you go with the donate version the restore is one click. With the regular version you have to ok each install. It backs up and restores user settings and market connections with the apps.

Without root you can use Astro file manager. With Astro you have to backup and restore each app one at a time. When you reinstall you will have to set up each app.

There was a thread that explained how to create a custom rom from your setup. That may be what you are looking for.
