Root How to install ICARUS 1.1 by Isaacj87

Hi. I installed Icarus and it looks really cool but I'm with Cricket and I had no data. I read I believe it was Jazz's post about slecting the correct carrier. Mine was set to Metro so I set it to my carrier, CriKet. The time however is like midhnight. Under the date and time settings Automatic, Set date, Select timezone, and set time is grayed out. The day is says March 10 although its the 9th. I tried turning my phone off and back on again but their still grayed out. Will it correct itself with time?

It sounds like the satellites are enabled. To disable them so they don't drain the battery go to Settings> Location and Security > Uncheck Use GPS satellites.

mms worked fine for me. just had to make sure my apn was selected correctly a couple times because it reset to #777 a couple times.
 
So when I got to the part to install icarusmod zip. I was told that there was an error mounting the sdcard. I've tried mounting it through mounts and storage and get the same thing. I also tried mounting usb storage and instead of coming up as removable storage on my computer it comes up as a cd drive. What can I do to fix this? Can I reload the original android backup i saved to my computer?

im sooo jealous....mine was able to receive but i wasnt able to send and i set the apn settings as they instructed to in the 3rd post but it didnt work idk wat the issue is but i will try it over and see what happens now that i know how to returrn it to stock!!!!!:)

OK I reflashed clockwork in and now can mount the sdcard but now the IcarusMOD zip file and everything else is gone and when I mount USB mass storage my computer still reads it as a cd drive and I can't do anything with it.

i flashed back and forth three times and have five different rom saves in a folder on my pc. back-up of back-ups, if you must.

Ok so I reflashed that crappy metro stuff back to the phone and I am going to retry again.

some people seem to have more trouble than others. i'm starting to think that each phone is unique and it's really up to the phone weather something works the first time or not.
 
noooo!

i moved my delvink cache to sd and had a few stutters so i decided to put it back on the phone.

shortly after i was playing with my launcher set ups and started getting fc's on go launcher, now it's happening to lp and more often. every time it loads actually. sometimes waiting works but not recently (twenty minutes now).

pulled the battery and waiting ten minutes....
 
I wish I had read the part about clockwork 2 not being installable from a mac :/ before I spent 20 mins on the steps leading up to that. Sigh..

not that i don't have access to my buddy's pcs.. but really apple? grrrr it's 2011

even more frustrating is that i have a windows emulator, Parallels, but it's expired so no use
 
Wow ok so it worked and now stupid me forgot that all 600 of my contacts have been backed up by metro backup. Important business contacts that I need too!!!! Looks like I have to revert back and write them all down now. Unless anybody knows any other way?

Hi, You have to install cwm version v2.5.1.8. Make sure you keep rereading the instructions, until you totally understand everything. Than ask questions before you update:0) Here's the link to where you install cwm version v2.5.1.8.

Well I had not thought of it but yeah that makes sense. I installed some apps (stuff I probably won't use often if hardly at all) that use GPS and asked if they could "track me" and I said yes.

I just turned off the two GPS options (for now).

You've cleared cache and data? That tends to fix things, and is required when installing roms.
 
sorry all been away for a few, but if its ok i can upload the mms.apk file for all who needs there mms fix, and btw you will also need root explorer, i have that also...

Nevermind the date and time corrected itself this morning :)

All of these problems people have been having lately, makes me more nervous about doing my phone. Originally planned to do it tonight too.. :eek:
