so i need your help
what i shall do
:?

you can still restore the vcf file even without backup and restore

you go to your contact...import contact...memory card...then create contact under [phone or gmail] and it will search for vcard on your sd.

once done that it will restore all your contacts....for the rest [mms, texts and others] backup n restore is still recommanded

Once fixed, do what I did and sync all your contacts to gmail.

I've never experienced such irritation and aggravation from such a simple task of saving contacts as I have from the blackberry, and Android operating systems.

You could copy all contacts to sim on a nokia 2210. Simple.

weird thing is i never been able to save any contacts to the sim...always say i have no sim contacts...

All you had to do was when you first setup the phone, setup an email address through gmail.

It is set to auto sync all contacts with gmail.

Anyone who went through the setup/tutorial when you first flashed your phone would have had sync/backup turned on.

A lot of people are really hung up on doing a backup that creates some sort of physical file (like a vcf or backing up to SIM) but are afraid to sync online. You aren't the only one at all.

thanks for you all
i download the backup and restore application separatelly from 4shared and then i restore all my contacts
thank you again for your interest

Why is that necessary? Just do what Merolas said, can't get much simpler than that! No need to download anything, the feature is built in.

I'm personally not a fan of the SE Backup & Restore app. Especially since as part of the upgrade from 1.6 to 2.1 they suggested in their official tutorial on how to perform the upgrade that you should perform a full backup using said app. Only problem is that the app was not present on the newer version of software so it did no good to do so.

Use the Contacts app to backup your contacts and MyBackup for everything else. It's easier, faster, more comprehensive and it's free.
