i have just tried downloading swype and....

i have just tried downloading swype installer but it is saying download unsuccessful any ideas? could it be that i am using ADW launcher and not htc sence?
i have registerd on there website its just when i click the link it starts downloading but it just says unsuccessful help please

i got it working i had somthing on the setting checked saying only download stuff from market or somthn like that

AS far as I am aware, they've changed Betas and as such you need to register on their website and then wait for an invite in your email and then just follow the instructions.

I am using LauncherPro so I doubt you using ADW is an issue.

Iam having this problem too!


I signed up to the websit and they emailuled me the link.

On my phone I click the link to download the install - but it just says download unsuccessful every time...

Any ideas

Have you enabled installing unkown sources in Settings -> Applications?

Yes I have allowed installing of unknown applications - that option is checked.

I have plenty of free space on the sd card, and 30MB free on the phone - does it download it to the phone automatically? Anyhow - there is no error messages other than

"<Untitled> Download Unsuccessful" in my notifications.

I am trying to dl over my providers network (not wifi) and I have a good signal (H) so it shouldnt be that....

When i first tried to download swype from the link in the email, it would error saying that mine wasn't an android phone. I got it to work by forcing the stock browser to always display the mobile version of the site (can be found in browser settings).
Try this incase it helps.

Thanks I made sure the mobile version was ticked as I found that tip elsewhere.

I am hoping it is something to do with not using wifi - will try wifi when I get home and see if that works. If not then I dont know!

I downloaded dolphin browser HD and it worked straight away by using that to click the link.
