Newbie
am i doing things right when i install a new rom or updated rom by doing the following? Using rooted D2...

1. download rom to sd card
2. open Droid 2 bootstrap
3. click bootstrap recovery (not sure what im doing with this)
4. click reboot recovery
5. in recovery mode i scroll down and click mounts and storage and then mount/system
6. scroll down and click install zip from sdcard
7. find the zip and install it
8. reboot system

any feedback would be appreciated...this is my first Droid and everything seems to be working great but not sure if this is correct

NANDROID BACKUP - should always be done before installing a ROM...things could go bad, it just happens, and you need a safeguard.

Otherwise it looks right!
Congrats!

I just put this together this morning - check it out.

next question is...is there a way to remove a theme? I installed the nextheme and didnt like it. is there an easy way to get back to the stock rom?

Backup your original ROM image - then apply theme, and simply restore.
There is not a way that I have read to do so.
