My dad's older ZTE Blade was running CyanogenMod 7.0 (Android 2.3.4) and when you typed "expe", it would suggest words such as "expedition".

This no longer works on his new ZTE Skate (stock Android 2.3.4).

Any ideas how to get it back?

If you head to Settings -> Language & Keyboard -> Android Keyboard is there an option to switch on/off suggestions there?

Alternatively, you could try installing another keyboard app?

    There isn't unfortunately.

Any keyboard recommendations that offer this feature?

He won't be the type of learn something complicated (Swype, for example).

It's a shame you hadn't asked this 2 days ago because Swift Keyboard X was only 10p as part of the 10 apps for 10p for 10 days celebration.

You could try something like Perfect Keyboard or the ICS Keyboard? I've both of them and they offer the word suggestion feature.

I have the Swift X Keyboard on mine and that does a super job so I'd highly recommend it.

    Cheers, Lynda~
